Bombardier Trams Brake Caliper Overhaul, London Trams Rolling Stock

Description

This procurement is for the overhaul and refurbishment of Trams Brake Caliper, supporting the safe and reliable operation of the tram fleet. The scope includes Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) approved overhaul activities, including removal, strip down, replacement of life expired and safety critical components, re assembly, OEM approved functional testing, certification, release to service, and warranty provision. The Total amount is circa £886,012. The justification for awarding this proposed contract is in accordance with the Procurement Act 2023 Direct Award and is compliant with Section 41.6, Schedule 5, Paragraph 7 which states: The public contract concerns the supply of goods, services or works by the existing supplier which are intended as an extension to, or partial replacement of, existing goods, services or works in circumstances where- (a) a change in supplier would result in the contracting authority receiving goods, services or works that are different from, or incompatible with, the existing goods, services or works, and (b )the difference or incompatibility would result in disproportionate technical difficulties in operation or maintenance.
