To ensure these devices continue to operate safely and effectively, a fully comprehensive service contract is required. Recent market research confirms that there are no suitable frameworks available that would allow a compliant award. Given the specialist nature of the equipment, it is essential that servicing and maintenance are carried out by appropriately trained and experienced engineers to support the continued delivery of high‑quality patient care. Therefore, a direct award to the original equipment manufacturer, Bausch and Lomb UK, is necessary.
