Carn Gwaval Family Belonging and Inclusion Hub
Buyer: Council of the Isles of Scilly
Description
The Council of the Isles of Scilly have identified a need for a Belonging and Inclusion Family Hub as a community-based resource for children and young people. The Hub would focus on wellbeing, enrichment, and inclusion, providing complementary support alongside existing school provision. The Hub would also enable the Council to fulfil its statutory duty to secure access to suitable Alternative Provision for children and young people who cannot receive their education in the usual school setting. In this way, the Hub would bring together youth services, enrichment activities, and targeted support for children and young people of all ages, including those with SEND, within a safe and inclusive environment that promotes belonging and community connection. The ambition is to build a 120m2 annex to the existing Carn Gwaval Well-being centre with an estimated build cost of £1.1m.
