Amendment › Description Given the ongoing clinical need for the products included in this contract and the consistent demand across Wales, a 12-month extension is considered necessary to ensure continuity of supply while a full competitive tender process is undertaken. Based on usage over the past 12 months, the projected expenditure for the extension period is 53,518.75 GBP (excluding VAT).
Amendment › Rationale Need for modification brought about by circumstances which a diligent contracting authority/entity could not foresee: Due to staff resourcing limitations within the All Wales Procurement Team, there is insufficient capacity to complete a full renewal exercise before the expiry date. It is therefore proposed that a 12-month extension (under Regulation 72) be awarded, enabling a competitive tender process to be undertaken during the extension period.
