Food waste - Caddies & Containers

Description

Following the Simpler Recycling announcement in October 2023, the council is developing a new food waste service for implementation in line with statutory requirements from 1 April 2026. To progress and develop the new food waste service the council is looking to understand what opportunities and constraints currently exist in the food waste markets, supporting industries and supply chains to aid its decision making. The purpose of this Preliminary Market Engagement (PME) is to seek input from potential suppliers within the market, to establish options and potential costs associated with the council's need to procure suitable containers to collect residents food waste.
